You don't have to rush things

yoga etc. #44

You have to find that place that brings out the human in you, the soul in you, the love in you.

- R. M. Drake

You are not alone.
You are not broken.
You are not unworthy.
You are not forgotten.

You are not too much.
You are not too sensitive.
You are not weak.
You are not hopeless.

It's okay to feel angry.
It's okay to feel sad.
Follow what feels authentic.
Let that guide you to where you need to go.

It's okay to not choose joy.
Let yourself process, first.
Joy will always be there for you.
And she will come naturally when you're ready.

Rest.
Take it slow.
You don't have to rush things.
Take all the time you need to feel safe.

You are enough.
You are whole.
You are worthy.
You are remembered.

You are joy.
You are safe.
You are love.  ✨

I recorded a short meditation that I'd like to share with you. You can listen to it at the top of this newsletter. I hope it reminds you that you are loved, and I hope it provides you with some ease as you head into this new week. ✨

Yoga of movement ✨

There's a brand new set of mix + match classes on my Kuula channel. We're building strength in the core and shoulders, breathing into the groin and hips, free-flowing to some dreamy tunes, and maybe, just maybe, we might magically find our way into crow pose!

Let me know how you get on. Have fun!

  • Connect - A 7-min loving-kindness meditation

  • Ground - 15 min to root yourself where you are

  • Salute - Find your flow

  • Flow - Get out of your head and move creatively

  • Grow - 15 min strength towards crow pose

  • Soothe - Gracefully moving up the spine

  • Restore - 15 minutes; three hip openers

  • Write - On core desired feelings

We also have our regular live classes this week—both online and in person!

  • Tuesday ✨ Rejuvenate (online)

  • Saturday ✨ Yoga in the fields (in-person)

  • Sunday ✨ Sunday soul (online)

We had to reschedule Yoga in the Fields last weekend due to the rain. Join us this Sunday instead (and do a little sunshine dance for us please!)

Please try to sign up at least 3 hours before the start of class, and if you can't make it in real-time, you'll get the recording in your email.

I'm also available for private and corporate classes. I'm offering complimentary corporate classes to nonprofit and not-for-profit organizations. Reply to this email if you're interested!

Yoga of action ✨

I'm tithing 10% of my income from my online yoga classes to organizations that fight against white supremacy. Every month, I'll pick a new charity and highlight it below. If these charities call to you, please consider contributing (no matter how small).

My May donation will go to the Hate is a Virus Community, Action Fund, which is raising $1 million to help essential and BIPOC community organizations working to dismantle systemic issues related to racism. Its goal is to amplify, educate, and activate AAPI to stand for justice and equality in solidarity with other communities.

Yoga of words ✨

Grab a pen, grab your journal. Have a seat somewhere comfortable. Close your eyes, take a breath in, and let it go. Your weekly writing prompt is below.

  • Write about a time you used your voice at the top of your lungs. Screaming, yelling, singing, laughing, crying. How did it feel to use your voice in this way? (15 minutes)

Feel free to share what you've written by clicking the link below. You're also welcome to keep this practice as just yours.
